Sally established Lakeland Sports Podiatry in 2021 and has 9 years of extensive experience in the management and treatment of musculoskeletal and sports injuries in both the public and private sectors in the UK, New Zealand and Canada. For many years Sally was the Clinical Lead Biomechanics Specialist Podiatrist in North Cumbria Integrated Health NHS Foundation Trust, specialising in biomechanics, orthotics, and gait analysis.
She gained her BSc in Podiatric Medicine in 2015 and completed a MSc in Clinical Biomechanics at Staffordshire University in June 2023. She has recently performed pioneering research on mountaineering boots, investigating how they affect muscle activity, joint loading and stability while hiking in the natural environment.
Sally enjoys treating all types of injuries but has developed a special interest in sporting performance, injury prevention and the treatment of complex musculoskeletal problems. She is passionate about helping individuals of all ages maximise their performance in sport, work and play. She believes that individualised care, empowerment and education are the keys to full recovery. Sally provides exemplary evidence-based services and continuous learning and development. She has received a certificate of excellence for her work in the NHS.
Sally spends her free time enjoying the great outdoors. Her favourite place to be is on the top of a fell in the Lake District. She is passionate about exercising and enjoys hiking, mountain biking, trail running, climbing, swimming, paddle boarding, mountaineering and skiing.
