Your Biomechanics Appointment
When you attend your appointment we feel that it is important that you leave with a clear understanding of your problem.
Following the history taking, you will be taken through a series of specific functional and dynamic tests. This will highlight areas where there is either a restriction in joint motion or a lack of muscle strength.
Where appropriate, we will utilise gait analysis. This can consist of a basic visual assessment of the way you walk, or a more detailed 2D video gait analysis. You will be able to see for yourself how you walk or run, helping you to understand your particular problems, why they exist and how they can be treated and prevented.
Bespoke approach
We employ a shared decision making process where we decide together based on the clinical findings and your preference of treatment. Individuals respond differently to a variety of treatments, therefore we use a combination of therapies or interventions to reduce your musculoskeletal pain and improve function such as; rehabilitative exercise, orthotics or insoles, taping and strapping, footwear advice, gait re-education.
